Project Completion: Murrieta Tennis

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

The debut website for Murrieta Tennis, a tennis club in Murrieta, California. The client came to me upset with the work that another website design firm was doing. She stopped using them and transferred the project over to me and was very satisfied with the result.

The client required use of Content Management System, and I went with Joomla due to its flexible templating system. In addition to creating the look and feel of the website, I also performed professional Search Engine Optimization services and got the client on page 1 of Google.com for over 20 targeted search terms. Also, I provided the hosting services.

Bold Photography Website

Monday, March 9th, 2009

I used jQuery (a javascript framework) to create a Flash-free, user-friendly photography portfolio website for this Santa Barbara-based photographer. The client requested a minimal design. I provided a minimal design that differentiates itself from other photography portfolios by bold use of color and diverging from the usual boring sans-serif modernist look. By forgoing use of Flash, I opened the site up to users who do not have the latest version of Flash installed.

Typography notes: Used Bello for the name, Humanist Slabserif for the title. Bello had to be kerned a bit to get the look I desired.

Other: The dots behind the name represent light being filtered through particles in the atmosphere.
